For Parents: Preparing Students for College or Support throughout College

If you are a parent of a high schooler and would like to discuss how to best support your student during this transition to college, you can contact me and we can discuss what needs your students has and how we can collaborate to best support them before they get to college and the stress hits. Between adjusting to increased independence and responsibility, managing mental health or physical health, social anxiety, academic demands, and homesickness, there is a lot to account for and prepare for.

Even with great plans for support, it is often valuable to maintain a connection to a therapist that is familiar with the unique needs of your student and have a point of contact and support when stressors are higher. There is an ebb and flow throughout each semester that has it’s own wave of calm and wave of stress- I have seen first hand for years the difference it makes to have a plan in place and a team to support students during this time. I’m available for a consultation if you have any additional questions- contact me!
